Everyday I turn on the evening news
And I got to tell you
I think the whole worlds gone crazy
Every time I am turning around someone is selling something new
It's getting so bad
I don't believe anything anyone tells me
But baby you have the most honest eyes
Maybe your the piece I'm missing in my life

I am looking for one true thing
One true thing that I can believe in
Searching for one real love
All my life I have been waiting
For one thing that's true
Could it be you?

Seems like every time I am walking down the street
No one even looks me in the eye
Everyone's got an angle
Everyone's got agendas
And a secret to keep
That is the one thing
On which you can rely
When you look at me I think I see something new
Tell me baby, can I put my faith in you?

I am looking for one true thing
One true thing that I can believe in
Searching for one real love
All my life I have been waiting
For one thing that is true
Could it be you?

So tell me before I go too far
Tell me now before I give you my heart

I am looking for one real love
All my life I have been waiting

I am looking for one true thing
One true thing that I can believe in
Searching for one real love
All my life I have been waiting
For one thing that is true
Could it be you?

Could it be you?

Flower of Life
“This is a rocker. Theme is finding someone you can believe in and hanging on. We did a cool treatment in the first chorus, where instead of building into an even bigger chorus, we do the opposite and drop everything out except acoustic guitar and my voice. It creates a dramatic and unexpected effect.”
