Wanna stare at you at singles bars
Pretty impatient girls (??)
Drank red wine as they smoke all night
unfiltered Camel cigarettes
Talk of God and the good old days

Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
Where have you gone my handsome young man
Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
There's a crack in the wall
And you're leaving heavy mold

Romance can be very sweet
But at times unkind
A soul to the wanting priest
Drunker ever since his wine
All you wanted was a good fight
And to die long before your time

Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
Where have you gone my handsome young man
Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
There's a crack in the wall
And you're leaving heavy mold

(Skat break)

Your hair and, yeah, that jacket arm
When I last saw you leaning there
Smoking my tangled arm
And your sad golden pearls
I lean to kiss the silent lips
And you vanished in thin air

Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
Where have you gone my handsome young man
Where have you gone Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
There's a crack in the wall
And it's earthquake weatherproof

Where Have You Gone Jimmy Dean
Written byJoy Eden Harrison
OtherAccording to Alan Bershaw, Jewel's archivist, "This is not a Jewel song. It is by Joy Eden Harrison and the version that commonly circulates as Jewel was recorded at a 1994 Inner Change show, where Joy also performed. Jewel is not on this song. However Jewel and Joy did collaborate on another song called "The Man Who's Already Gone" around this same time."
